The Rockwell Versacut was featured in the 2011 Editor’s Choice Awards section of Popular Mechanics magazine. Here’s what PM had to say about this mini circular saw:
Rockwell’s engineers kept a careful eye on the details when designing the Versacut, a 4-pound powerhouse that cuts plywood, composites, lumber, light-gauge sheet metal and ceramic tile. The secret is a 4-amp motor paired up with blades for specific materials and cuts. Use the carbide-tip 24-tooth blade for fast and rough wood cutting. To cut metal, install a 44-tooth blade made of tough high-speed steel. For tile, turn to the saw’s abrasive diamond blade. About the only thing that saw doesn’t cut is features: It comes with the three blades, a dust extraction port and an edge guide.
